Converting Quotes to Projects and Invoices

Pro

Turn accepted quotes into active projects or invoices to start work and billing seamlessly.

When a client accepts a quote, you can convert it into a project, an invoice, or both. This ensures the agreed scope and pricing flow directly into your project setup and billing.

Convert a quote to a project

  1. Open the accepted quote.
  2. Click Convert to Project.
  3. Review the pre-filled project details:
    • Project name (from the quote)
    • Budget (from the quote total)
    • Line items become project scopes or tasks (depending on your preference)
  4. Adjust any details as needed.
  5. Click Create Project.

The quote is linked to the project. You can trace back from the project to the original quote at any time.

Convert a quote to an invoice

  1. Open the accepted quote.
  2. Click Convert to Invoice.
  3. Review the pre-filled invoice:
    • Client and billing details (from the quote)
    • Line items (from the quote)
    • Amount (from the quote total)
  4. Adjust any details or add additional line items.
  5. Save as draft or send immediately.

Convert to both

You can convert a quote to a project first, then create invoices from the project as work progresses. Alternatively, convert to both simultaneously:

  1. Click Convert to Project & Invoice.
  2. Both are created with linked references.

Tracking conversions

On the Quotes page, converted quotes show badges indicating what they were converted to (Project, Invoice, or both). Click the badge to navigate to the linked entity.

Tip: For fixed-price work, convert the quote to a project to track time against the budget, then invoice at milestones or upon completion.
