Creating Your First Project

Create a project in Voltasis to organize your time entries, set budgets, and track progress.

Projects are the foundation of time tracking in Voltasis. Every time entry is tied to a project, which makes it easy to see where your time goes and generate accurate invoices.

Create a project

  1. Click Projects in the sidebar.
  2. Click New Project.
  3. Enter a project name. Choose something descriptive — you'll see it in timesheets, invoices, and reports.
  4. Optionally, add a description and set a due date.
  5. Choose a billing method:
    • Time & Materials — Bill based on tracked hours at a set rate.
    • Fixed Price — A flat fee for the entire project (Pro plan).
    • Non-Billable — For internal work that won't be invoiced.
  6. Click Create Project.

Tip: On the Free plan, you can have up to 3 active projects. Pro plans have unlimited projects.

Set a budget (optional)

Budgets help you track spending against a limit:

  1. Open your project and go to the Budget tab.
  2. Set a budget type — Hours or Amount.
  3. Enter the budget value.
  4. Optionally, enable budget alerts to be notified at 80% and 100%.

Assign team members (Pro plan)

  1. Open your project and go to the Team tab.
  2. Click Add Member and select team members from your organization.
  3. Set per-member hourly rates if they differ from the project default.
