Transferring Account Ownership

Transfer the organization owner role to another admin when changing leadership.

This article applies to: Admin

The account owner has the highest level of access in Voltasis, including the ability to manage billing and delete the organization. Only the current owner can transfer ownership to another Admin.

Before you transfer

  • The new owner must already be an Admin in the organization.
  • The new owner must have a verified email address.
  • Ensure the new owner understands their responsibilities (billing, security, data).

Transfer ownership

  1. Go to Settings > Organization > Ownership.
  2. Click Transfer Ownership.
  3. Select the Admin you want to transfer ownership to.
  4. Confirm your identity by entering your password.
  5. Click Confirm Transfer.

The transfer takes effect immediately. You remain an Admin but no longer have owner-specific permissions (billing management, organization deletion).

What changes

  • The new owner controls billing and subscription management.
  • The new owner can transfer ownership again.
  • The new owner can delete the organization.
  • You remain an Admin with full feature access (but not billing or ownership controls).

Recover ownership

If the owner leaves the organization unexpectedly, contact support@voltasis.com with proof of organizational authority to initiate an ownership transfer.

Tip: Establish a documented succession plan for account ownership, especially for organizations where the founder may not be the long-term owner.
