Installing the Desktop App

The Voltasis desktop app provides system tray access, global hotkeys, and idle detection for seamless time tracking from your computer. The desktop app is available on the Pro plan.

Download the app

1. Go to voltasis.com/download.
2. Select your operating system: macOS, Windows, or Linux.
3. Download the installer.

Install

macOS

1. Open the downloaded .dmg file.
2. Drag the Voltasis icon to your Applications folder.
3. Open Voltasis from Applications.
4. If prompted, click Open to bypass Gatekeeper.

Windows

1. Run the downloaded .exe installer.
2. Follow the installation wizard.
3. Voltasis launches automatically after installation.

Linux

1. Download the .AppImage or .deb file.
2. For AppImage: make it executable (chmod +x) and run it.
3. For .deb: install with sudo dpkg -i voltasis.deb.

Sign in

1. The app opens a sign-in window.
2. Enter your credentials or use Google OAuth.
3. Once signed in, the app minimizes to the system tray.

System tray

The Voltasis icon lives in your system tray (menu bar on macOS). Click it to:

• Start/stop the timer
• See the current running timer
• Open the full app window

Tip: Set the desktop app to launch on startup so it's always available in your system tray.
