Data Import

Voltasis supports importing data from CSV files and directly from popular time tracking tools. Use data import when setting up a new organization or migrating from another platform.

Import from CSV

1. Go to Settings > Data > Import.
2. Select CSV Import.
3. Choose what you're importing: Time Entries, Projects, Clients, or Expenses.
4. Download the template CSV for the selected type.
5. Fill in the template with your data.
6. Upload the completed CSV file.
7. Review the preview — Voltasis shows a sample of the data and any validation errors.
8. Click Import.

Migrate from another tool

Voltasis provides dedicated migration paths for:

Harvest

1. Export your data from Harvest (Settings > Data Export in Harvest).
2. In Voltasis, go to Settings > Data > Import > Harvest.
3. Upload the Harvest export files.
4. Voltasis maps Harvest fields to Voltasis fields automatically.
5. Review the mapping and click Import.

Toggl

1. Export your data from Toggl (Reports > Export in Toggl).
2. In Voltasis, go to Settings > Data > Import > Toggl.
3. Upload the Toggl CSV exports.
4. Review the mapping and click Import.

Clockify

1. Export your data from Clockify (Settings > Export in Clockify).
2. In Voltasis, go to Settings > Data > Import > Clockify.
3. Upload the Clockify CSV exports.
4. Review the mapping and click Import.

What's imported

Depending on the source, imports can include:

• Time entries (project, description, duration, date, tags)
• Projects (name, client, billing method, budget)
• Clients (name, email, address)
• Expenses (amount, category, date, project)

After importing

• Review imported data for accuracy.
• Check that project assignments and client associations are correct.
• Team members may need to be invited separately (user accounts are not imported).

Tip: Run a test import with a small sample before importing your full dataset. This helps catch mapping issues early.
