ProCreate reusable line items and billing profiles to standardize your invoicing.
This article applies to: Admin
The line item catalog and billing profiles help you standardize invoicing by creating reusable items and rate configurations. Both features are available on the Pro plan.
Line item catalog
The catalog stores commonly used line items so you don't have to re-enter descriptions and rates every time.
Add a catalog item
- Go to Settings > Invoicing > Line Item Catalog.
- Click Add Item.
- Enter the item details:
- Name — Descriptive name (e.g., "Senior Developer - Hourly").
- Description — Additional detail shown on invoices.
- Unit price — Default price per unit.
- Unit — Hour, day, item, etc.
- Click Save.
Use catalog items on invoices
- When adding a line item to an invoice, click Add from Catalog.
- Select the item. Its name, description, and price are pre-filled.
- Adjust the quantity and any overrides as needed.
Billing profiles
Billing profiles are sets of rates and settings that can be applied to projects or clients.
Create a billing profile
- Go to Settings > Invoicing > Billing Profiles.
- Click New Profile.
- Enter a profile name (e.g., "Standard Consulting" or "Premium Rate").
- Set the hourly rates by role (e.g., Senior: $200/hr, Junior: $125/hr).
- Click Save.
Apply a billing profile
- Open a project's settings.
- Select a billing profile from the dropdown.
- The profile's rates are applied to time entries for that project.
Tip: Use billing profiles when you have different rate cards for different types of work or clients.
